Are you moving despite perfection?

Posted by on Apr 14, 2010 in achievement, goals, habits, success | 0 comments

While talking to a client many months ago, she said that she needed to move in “imperfect action.” By “imperfect action’” she meant not waiting for everything to be to exactly perfect: for all the stars to be aligned, knowing all the caveats, and having all the answers. That thought has resonated with me since. I could understand the concept. But, accepting and embracing it was not in my character. However, I have never forgotten the comment. Since going through the process of developing my success habits, I have come to realize the...

Is failure a choice?

Posted by on Apr 12, 2010 in goals, habits, planning, success | 0 comments

Yesterday I read a passage in Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich, which I was going to write about in my post. Unfortunately, I procrastinated (reason 8 below). I said that I would do it later, after I got to the office. Well, the day got behind me and I didn’t do my post. So, today’s post will be about Napoleon Hill’s 30 major reasons for failure. During this process of developing my success habits and reading Hill’s book, I realize that he is correct in his analysis of the causes of failure. I have found...

Are you recognizing the good?

Posted by on Apr 9, 2010 in achievement, habits, success | 0 comments

I read the following quote this morning: Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are. Marianne Williamson I really like this quote. It epitomizes my day yesterday. I woke up feeling great. Things are moving in the right direction, I feel better focused, and I knew there would be challenges. Challenges such as wanting more time in the day, needing research a problem (which started at 5pm and took 2 hours), consider switching to a new management system in the office, and determining how to migrate...

Are you making it harder than it is?

Posted by on Apr 7, 2010 in achievement, goals, habits, planning, success | 0 comments

I had the realization today that I often make things harder than they need to be. It is easy to over think things and require more than is needed. A great example is, I have been thinking about doing a blog for more than a year. I have always shied away from it. I wasn’t really familiar with blogs and had no idea what I would say. And, if I had something to say would it be enough. Through this process, I have gained the following: You can’t let the unknown or fears stop you. Taking the first step is hardest. You don’t have...

Do you know who you are?

Posted by on Apr 5, 2010 in achievement, habits, planning, success | 0 comments

I read a post this morning from last week on T. Harv Eker’s blog site. He is the author of Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. If you have not read it, you need to! I really liked what his post had to say because it is WHY I am doing this every day. I am developing the success habits that will help to shape me into the person that I want to be. His blog went like this: Do you know who you are? “Of course I know who I am,” a lot of people will respond. Then they’ll rattle off a list that includes their name, where they’re from, their...

First things first!

Posted by on Apr 2, 2010 in achievement, goals, habits, planning, success | 0 comments

After analyzing a problem that I had last week, I realized that you REALLY have to take first things first. That means that I needed to look at the problem, determine the cause(s), figure out the order to handle, and address it properly. In the past, I would have handled it with the first pain or area that I thought was the problem. However, doing the goal planning that I have since I made this commitment made me realize there were steps involved. This has been a huge benefit because I am able to go through the steps needed to accomplish a...

Can I take a break now?

Posted by on Mar 31, 2010 in goals, habits, planning, success | 0 comments

No. No. No. Although it would be great to have a day that I can do nothing, I realize it does not serve my bigger goal. This makes me realize that I have to do things for the greater good. Therefore, a few minutes (or maybe more) of discomfort for the habits I want to build makes BevAnn a better and more successful person. Although I would like a break, I am very pleased that I am realizing the consequences and taking the steps to realize my overall goal and purpose.

Checking in. How are things going?

Posted by on Mar 29, 2010 in goals, habits, planning, success | 0 comments

What do you do when things do not go as planned? I have been working on my success habits for 15 days now. The frustrating part is that despite my desire and drive, things are not going as I planned. I have learned the following: I want immediate results and this is not practical. I am developing success habits. Plans are a guide for your success. They are not a definite which is etched in stone. I will keep pushing through because the habits I want to develop are greater than this small obstacle. Have you encountered any obstacles? How are...

What are you asking for out of life?

Posted by on Mar 26, 2010 in achievement, success | 0 comments

Much of the reason that I have begun this year long journey of posting a blog every day and developing success habit is get out of life what I want. I recently heard something in the book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill that drove this point home. I will share it with you. Remember, no more effort is required to aim high in life, to demand abundance and prosperity, than is required to accept misery and poverty. A great poet has correctly stated this universal truth through these lines: “I bargained with Life for a penny, And Life...

How much is a daily ritual worth?

Posted by on Mar 26, 2010 in achievement, goals, habits, planning, success | 0 comments

Well, I am bummed. I missed my second post yesterday. I will be making up for that by doing two posts today. I feel that what I learned from yesterday’s experience is much too powerful to keep to myself. Yesterday, we had a newspaper photographer coming to the office to take a picture for an upcoming article. Because we had very late notice of when they were coming, I was not able to prepare the day before. So, I decided to get to the office early to tidy up before leaving for my day’s appointments. I knew I had a hectic day and wanted...
